Dr Richard Downes is President of Miami Wireless Associates, a consulting firm providing market research, regulatory studies and conference hosting for the wireless industry in Latin America and the Caribbean. His previous positions include Sales Director for Latin America and the Caribbean for Detecon, the telecoms and IT consulting company, and Director for Latin America and the Caribbean for 3G Americas, which is dedicated to the GSM-based evolution to UMTS throughout the region.
